Please Stop Bombarding Me With Your "Whitening" Marketing!

Four years ago, noong nag- wowork pa ko abroad, I miss yung pagka-sikat ko sa Dubai, hehehe.. “IN” kasi ang kulay ko duon. People of different nationalities would actually come forward and approach: Old, young, females and males alike and say things like: Krasiva! Heloeh! Bella! Or Linda! (All in different languages meaning: Beautiful!) Naiinggit sila sa brown color of my skin. Kaya I maintained my color there as tanned. They think of tanned people as wealthy people who has got time for holidays and going to the beach.

For the record, it is healthy to be out in the sun once in a while as long as hindi tanghaling tapat, or you wear UV Sunscreen Lotion! Sunshine gives you a lot of benefits, such as Vitamin D, for stronger bones, and immune, so not only you look sickly with your white skin, dahil takot na takot ka lumabas sa araw, do not fear because you should think of your own health too!

Going back, how long has it been since I was young when I wasn’t as confident in my own skin than today. Ang baba pa ng self-esteem ko sa sarili ko nun, and how I fantasized going somewhere na ang mga tao, they will appreciate the color of my skin. So nung nag- abroad ako parang Dejavu’ lang it all happened.

There are actually other people who wish they have got the same skin color as you, or maybe other people in some part of the world who are jealous of the size of your nose for example, or those who are attracted at the size and color of your eyes!
What you see in the television of celebrities that are as white as snow is a media brainwash that in order to look beautiful or perceived as rich, is you must have that bond paper white skin!
I have tried whitening my skin in the past, in case you wonder, but I didn’t have that same unique appeal that I want, katulad na ako ng mas nakararami feeling ko, so I defied the majority and decided to be a stand-out!
Do you know that in the modeling world Tyra keeps on saying that they are even more inspired for women’s natural “imperfections”? Gap teeth, Big eyes, big boned etc? and actually think that Barbie-like features are perceived as Boring?

Embrace the natural you:

But you can always maintain your healthier self by eating the right food and taking enough liquids! Remember you are beautifully made for a purpose! The more natural you are, the more natural stuff you are taking the better!
