Be Significant To Be Successful

Ang last topic ng Series of the Feast this week was SIGNIFICANCE. I was struck by the thoughts, ideas, stories at syempre ang communication ni Lord sa akin tungkol dito.

First is, as Bro. Randy Borromeo stated:
"You Can be successful, But You May not be Significant."
There are successful people, and it shows ouwardly in their results e.g. cars, properties, off shore bank accounts na talagang pinaghirapan, but they maybe are just doing these for personal gain, but not contributing to the greater good in the community.

Second..
"You Can Never Be Significant, Without Being Successful."
We can only inspire people, when we show results of what we have done in our lives as a result of past hardships or humble beginnings. If you start doing something significantly, that uplifts and improves others, the community or the system, then definitely you will be successful. It goes hand in hand.

May nakausap ako na very wealthy businessman a few weeks ago. He gets an email or a message once in a while in his blackberry, na na-close ang kanyang deal, he mentions worth 8 Million, then the other week, may deal ulit his waiting to close for 6 Million. And he shares to me that his dream is to reach his wealth to 100 Million, and that his off to go and enjoy his retirement. Take vacations wherever he chooses to go, etc.

I asked, what else does he hope for. He answered back that he aside from achieving his dreams, and he would like to try and influence his kids' to dream big and to achieve these too which is really good!

However that's maybe why I met him and the reason I entered the picture is to minister to him, because God loves him. So he can have bigger dreams to help the community, or to give a portion of his wealth back to God?

He has got other complications in life and bitterness from past hurts, and I'm sure getting his faith in God and strengthening his spiritual life would be the answer so he can forgive and be forgiven.

When we try to connect this bible verses, about the story of a wealthy man:

Luke 12:16-21 (NIV)

16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’
20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”

Meron, din akong kakilala, another wealthy man who's got all the success and wealth dahil sa pagtatrabaho as a manager in an Oil Company. After his hectic schedule at work, next thing he does is Online Games. Hours and hours of online games.
And on the weekends, more online games.

Let me share with you:
the LIFE of a SUCCESS is Filling Your Barn.
the LIFE of SELFISHNESS, is Filling Your Barns, Period.
the Life of SIGNIFICANCE, is Helping Others Fill their Barns.

Go, let your success overflow from your barn. Get a higher calling from whatever you do. If you are a Call center agent, great and noble job, I was too a call center agent. But it doesn't stop there.

You can strive to level up, and maybe train other new agents. Or attend skills building so you know better and share it to others.

She shared to me the secrets of her successes. Very inspiring story. Nag- umpisa daw siya selling one slab of meat of porkchop sa malaking palengke.

Now she's got branches of her own meatshops in many market places! She shared to me how she engages to her customer kaya dumami ang suki niya.

It's wonderful to have dreams for yourself and to enjoy life's rewards, money, travels, nice house and cars. But it is even wonderful to gain respect and inspire people and leave a legacy that even after you're gone, because that's where we are going anyway, that we have tap a higher calling, maybe to improve people's lives, or to share wisdom, or to fight poverty or crimes in general.

Are you allowing other people to drink on your saucers?

It's easy to have a vision, but a compelling vision is what drives you fast and forward.

Umahon sa Utang Ngayong Taon

I once got a taste of having a credit card when I got my first job sa call center eight years ago. Because of my poor money mindset, na-maxed out ko ang credit balance.

I acquired 2 Credit cards, at ang utang ko na tig P5,000 per card, ballooned for about P45,000 in 2 years, na parang hindi nababawasan dahil minimum lang binabayaran ko every month with interest, lumaki pa hanggang P80,000.

It took me another 2 years before I could finally pay up all my maxed out credit cards. It took me two years I’ve reached bottom low before I wisened up.

I was able to build my emergency fund, and is now investing on insurances and stocks.

Meron din akong kaibigan na with just a tiny amount as start at hindi nababayaran, lumaki ng hanggang P300,000! Unbelievable! The power of compounding effect on the negative side of debt! Plus she always was getting harrassed of getting calls after calls from collection agency, then letters and even subpoena.

Noong nasa Dubai ako, katulad ko maraming stuck paying piles of loan after loan. Ang hirap dahil kahit you wanna get out of your job, location or situation, it seems na nakatali ka sa utang ng napakatagal.

Ngunit alam mo ba na once one entered into a loan agreement, one commits himself to payments over a period of time, hence presuming that nothing untoward will happen such as loss employment and other unexpected expenses, which no one can ever tell.

According to Bible at Prov. 27:1
Sternly warns us not to boast of the future for no one knows what tomorrow may bring.

I do have a friend, na napakaganda ng trabaho sa isang malaking firm for 10 long years, his salary have multiplied during those years 8 times!

So he got more credit cards, got house and car loans. But the most unfortunate thing happened, and he got laid- off! He now had to live below his usual lifestyle. Very sad story.

Wag mawalan ng pag-asa. Kaya mong makaahon! One step at a time.

1.  First, what you need to do is to cut up and cancel your credit cards, otherwise you may be tempted to continue using your cards and further increase your debt load. Pwede naman ang isang major credit card na minimum lang at only for emergency nababayaran ang complete balance agad.

2.  Second, discipline to pay double than what you're paying on your credit cards every month para madaling matapos, and really simpify your expenses and shopping habits.

3.  Worst comes to worst and you have maxed out, at nag- balloon na ang utang sa banko, at ang collection agencies threatening and chasing you, at parang hindi mo na talaga mabayaran? Don't be depressed, as long as you are firm in paying your debt at ayaw mong takbuhan. May hope pa. You may send a promissory letter or make a compromise with the the bank to lessen the interest.

According to Suze Orman, coach of debt management, maaaring mapakiusapan ang banko ng iyong minimum debt payment arrangement sa amount na kaya mo lamang!

At hindi napipilitan sa laki ng interest! I have tried it myself and have lessened the debt interest for almost more than 80%!

We want to get out of debt, dahil hindi ito ang plan ni God sa atin. But to be loyal to him and give back to him through tithes, and as a help for those poor.

According to Bible at Proverbs 21:5
The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage,
But everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.

Kung gusto mo ng advice or tulong we can talk, depende sa current situation mo, laki at tagal ng utang. Message me here, or Email me with your contact # at 0915 6736645.

I-Let Go Ang Mga Maling Nakagawian at Natutunan Noon

1. "Hanggang Dito Lang Tayo, Mahirap lang Tayo"

Kahit ilang beses na sinasabi ng Papa ko, how he really wanted to win Lotto at yumaman, kung parating ganito ang kanyang pag-iisip. Hindi nagkakasundo ang kanyang katawan sa kung ano ang sinasabi ng isip. Mind is so powerful. And whatever we want to be and do in life, we should be 100% clear and focused in achieving that.

So hindi tayo dapat CONFLICTED.

As long as a wealthy person is not attached in material things, at ang kanyang blessings are helping communities at nakaka-bless ng ibang tao, then dapat nating pagsumikapan ang yumaman!

Say this to yourself:

"DON'T BE CONFLICTED. I KNOW I WANT TO DO or BE _______________, AND I WILL DO THE VERY BEST I CAN TO ACHIEVE IT!"

2. "Dahil sa Gobyerno, o sa Magulang Ko Kaya ako Mahirap"

Ika nga ni Bill Gates, "It is not your fault if you were born poor, but absolutely your fault if you died poor!"

We are absolutely responsible for all our actions.

Say this to yourself:

"I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DECISIONS AND ACTIONS. WALA NG IBA!"

3.  "Hindi ko Kaya Hanggang Dito Na lang Ako"

Everything is a learnable skill ika ni Brian Tracy.

Wag matakot to try new things or to get a new hobby. If ever I wanted to be a baker, if I am 100% sure and clear that I'd like to start and try, then i'll do it. I go and act.

If others can do it, why can't you.

Learn the new skill of asking.

Even persistently ask God through prayers. There's nothing wrong with that, and just observe how your prayers are going to be answered. How resources fall to your lap, how people you need show up to help you.

Or you may learn from reading books or articles/blogs, or when you attend seminars and workshops by investing on yourself and mind.

Say this to yourself:

"I CAN DO ALL THINGS, THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME!"

If you were once a caterpillar in your own cocoon, use your power and might to break that shell of comfort zone, mahirap sa una, pero go lang and get out there, to transform yourself, morph into a beautiful butterfly. Like that butterfly in my hands. Once was an ugly, sticky caterpillar, but now a beautiful intricately unique and colorful specie.

Spread your wings and fly...

Additional reflections and Bible verses:

Matthew 7:7 NIV
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

Hebrews 10:35-36
"Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised."

3 Tips Para I-Manage ang iyong Gintong Oras

(3 Tips On How to Manage your Golden Time)

Do you sometimes wonder bakit may mga tao na sa kanilang murang edad, ay marami nang na-accomplish sa buhay?
or
Do you sometimes think about how a millionaire or a wealthy man makes use of his/her time daily?

Wala akong Iphone, and didn't want to spend big bucks on phones, dahil marami na akong nawalang phone before, sayang naman.

Dala lang niya, so I looked at it, at ang daming games, may Coindozer, Bejeweled, at Plants and Zombies.

Nagugutom na ako, I looked at the clock aba!

While eating, I felt guilty of a crime and as if I sinned greatly on my morals sa pag-ubos ng buong maghapon ko sa pag-gegames.

Binalik ko sa pinsan ko ang phone and said that I didn't want to borrow the phone ever!

I remember long long time ago, when I was in my teens or early 20s pa, na na-adik ako sa paglalaro ng games sa phone at sa computer. As in ADIK!

But now, that I have got more important goals and dreams, I have commited myself to work on those goals and priorities, if not using my precious time spending quality moments to improve my relationship with my family or friends.

I read on a popular study that, an hour or two average each day na paglalaro ng games o panonood ng TV in your lifetime (from 10 yrs- 65 yrs old) means about 2 months o 67 Days na walang tulugan at tuloy-tuloy na pagwe-waste ng iyong oras ang nawala sa buhay mo, na maaaring you would have done something better to improve in yourself, like reading books or articles and listening to audio programs.

I am very sad. Very, very sad. I sympathize because sometime in my life I was once also got addicted to online games, watching Mexican Novelas (dati!),  o ngayon Koreanovelas, etc.
But why do you fill your time doing these things?

Answer: Because you haven't got any direction on what to do with your time.

Kung gusto mo yumaman, o maging milyonaryo, magiging sensitibo ka sa kung anong tasks o activities ang taking up most of your time. Really, TIME IS GOLD.

Meron akong Tatlong Paraan Para I-Manage ng Tama ang Iyong Oras.

Can be an assignment for yourself like finishing a chapter of a book,  o doing your 50 sit-ups, o finishing a project (website o deadline sa work) o learning a new language o praying and bible reflection!

Don't get yourself distracted, Just Do It!

3. Don't get distracted! Un-install games on your PC and mobile phones. Limit or stop watching TV!

I've spoken recently to a 50 Years old lady who looked at me with all her sincerity and regret that if only she could turn back the time and be at my age, and used time in her past wisely doing the most important things. In all honesty, you know for a fact what those important things are.
  • Meeting new friends and developing quality relationships with your friends and family
  • Investing on your mind by attending seminars/ workshops for skills- building or reading books
  • Write business plans and executing it
  • Adding other income streams aside from current work (buy and sell online, investing in stocks/ mutual funds)
  • Write Books/ Blogs
  • Travel the world and exotic places
  • You name it!

Get Rich! Wealthy people don't just take their precious time for granted. As a responsible person like you, start or continue to invest your most important and valuable asset in the world. Your TIME!

Life is really short. Let me share with you some Bible verses to reflect on:

Psalm 90:12 ESV
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Maling Impression Tungkol Sa Insurance

Having an insurance is taboo. I don’t want to jinx my life.

What’s worse is causing hardship and grief to your family and dependents.

Meron akong kaibigan na, hindi naniwala sa insurance at nang na-stroke ang tatay niya, he had to borrow and find at all means a total of P300,000.00 para ma-revive ang tatay niya, but unfortunately his dad still ended up dead, and him being negatively broke. After a month, he approached and got his mom an insurance.

Another friend also testified, Pauline from QC:

"I'm sorry I always reject your proposal of insurance plan. My husband never believe in insurance protection. Now he is gone. Our family, didn’t have any income to support our expenses. I wish my husband purchase insurance policy, not for him, for the sake of family and kids."

In Philippines, which is arguably one of the most superstitious society, about 18% only of the eligible population have in fact insurance of their life and families.

Meron akong isa pang kaibigan who is a single mother of two cute little kids, who she pays for tuition fee and living expenses plus a load of credit card debts. She testified a 0% savings, let alone insurance for herself who work a carabao-like workloads. Very dangerous.

She can't possibly work like a machine, pati rin naman yun, nag- shu shutdown.

How can she financially support her kids if in the indefinite future, a critical illness or accident suddenly knocks?

So, exercise this gesture of love and care towards your family by having an insurance today. You owe them a duty.
